My derby league is Bristol Roller Derby, I play for the women's A-team, and in 2014 and 2011 I was privileged to skate for Team Finland in the World Cup. I am a skater rep in the current Team Finland selection/training committee, preparing for the next World Cup.

I'm Finnish but have been living in the UK since 2004. I first heard about roller derby in early 2008. My friends had set up a league but I had just moved to another city and was missing all the fun. After a couple of years of being gutted about it, in spring 2010, I took the big step of getting a league running in Bristol with some like-minded girls - the best thing I've ever done. I had ice skated and inline skated as kid, but soon realised that derby is so much more than skating, it is a challenge for the whole body and mind and I love that!

In about 2012 I got interested in skateparks and learned to pump and jump turn, and drop in as well. It was a very lonely hobby back then and after a while I stopped going, until in December 2014 while out in the USA I went to a Chicks in Bowls meet-up... learned a few funky tricks and that was it. I got my skatepark spark back. Now in Bristol I am running Chicks in Bowls Bristol with my other skatepark mad friends!
My derby gear is currently Bont semi-custom skates, Arius Platinum plates, Radar Presto wheels and Crazy Bounce toe stops. I've got Smiths Scabs knee gaskets and pads, 187 Pro elbow pads, 187 derby wrist guards and SISU mouth guard and S1 helmet.
My skate park gear is Edea Overture artistic skating boot, Sure-Grip Probe plate, Crazy Big Block toe stops. Penny 3 inch trucks with modified (angled) bottom cushions, #diy copers, #diy sliders, tiny wheels
